XL bundles are here

Two new roll lengths on every shade, the 120m XL out of hiding, and a calculator that works on anybody's foil.

Right. Let us talk about the back end of the year.

You know what is coming. The busiest stretch in the whole foiling calendar, the one where you go from a few cards a week to a table full of orders, and the C word is not far off now.

And every year the same thing happens. You run out. Halfway through a run, at half past ten at night, on the one shade you actually needed.

So we had a proper look at how we sell foil, and we changed it.

The wall at Betty HQ. This is what your order gets cut from.

1The 15m roll

New, and available in every single shade we make. Standard, Premium and the Exclusive gradients. Nothing held back.

This is the one for when a 10m does not quite cover the job and two of them feels daft.

2The 20m roll

Also new, also every shade.

Twice the foil on a tube, so half the reloading. If you are running a market stall or a wedding season, this is the one that stops you stopping.

3The 120m XL

Now this one is a confession.

The XL is not new. It has been on the site for months, sitting quietly at the bottom of the size list where nobody ever scrolled, doing itself no favours whatsoever.

It is the roll you buy when foiling stopped being a hobby. It is by some distance the best rate per metre we do. And from today it gets the billing it should have had all along.

Every tier, every length

1m, 3m, 5m, 10m, 15m, 20m and the 120m XL. On every shade in the range, including the Exclusive gradients. No tier locked out of any size, which is not how most foil is sold and is exactly why we did it.

Why we did it

Because we sit on a wall of foil at Betty HQ, and there is no sense in that if none of it reaches you at a better rate.

The longer the roll, the less we spend getting it to you. Fewer tubes to cut, fewer to wrap, fewer parcels to pack. That is not a promotion and it is not a sale. It is just what happens, and we would rather hand it back than keep it.

More you buy, more you save. Betty has said it from day one.

And now the useful bit

We built a foil calculator, and we did not build it to sell you our foil.

Put in any roll. Ours, someone else's, the half-used one sitting on your shelf right now. Give it the width, the length and what you paid. Tell it whether you are making A4 sheets, A5, card fronts, DL or tags. It tells you exactly how many you get and what each one costs you.

Pounds, euros, dollars or Australian dollars. Whatever you paid in, that is what it answers in.

One thing we did differently, and it matters.

Most calculators take the total area of the roll and divide it by the area of your sheet. That number always looks lovely and it is always wrong, because you cannot cut a sheet out of a leftover gap down the side. Ours counts what actually fits across the roll and down its length, then rounds down.

You will get a smaller number from us. You will also get the true one.

Go on then

Put your current roll into it, whoever made it. Find out what you are really paying per sheet. We will wait.

If you want to go further

Build your own bundle on the 20m roll. Pick five shades or pick ten. Any tier, Exclusives included, one price for the lot.

Both live on the Bundles page, along with the calculator, the sheet mixes and everything else.

A word on machines

Our machine of the moment in the UK is the Serena, the Liora's sister. Lovely bit of kit, and it handles our rolls beautifully.

Wherever you are

We ship all over. The UK, Australia, America and most places in between. All cut fresh to order, all going out from here.

Not sure where to start? Send for a sample. One sheet, your shade, postage only.

See you in the busy bit. Go and work out what your foil is actually costing you.
